Tsada County
Tsada is one of the border counties of Tibet and lies in the west of Tibet and belongs to the Shiquanhe River Valley. With a circumstance of 24,676 square kilometers, it only has a population of 5,200. In Tibetan Tsada means “the land with growing grass in the lower reaches of the river? The county government is under the jurisdiction of Ngari (Ali) Prefecture and the county seat is located at Toling. With an average elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level, all the territory of the county is on the highland zone. It is high in the west and low in the east, resulting in a height difference of 1,500 meters. The county has 14 rivers, big or small, among which the Shiquanhe River, the second largest river in Ngari flow through the county. The famous site of the Guge Kingdom is a leading protected entity of cultural relics. On both sides of the Shiquanhe River, the earth hills stretch and wander several tens of kilometers and form a special earth holt topography. Among them, about 400 caves left by the ancient Tibetans are found. |
