                            Tibet Shalu Monastery to Nartang Monastery 9 Days trekking tour

      Route feature:In this 9 days tour,you will see not only many beautiful palces in Lhasa,but also you can see Shalu Monastery,Ngor Monastery,Nartang Monastery,Tashilunpo Monastery and have many trekkings around these famous monasteries.

     This two or three days walk is a good opportunity to get a feel for trekking in Tibet. The two passes en route, Showa-la and Char-la, are not panicularly high or difficult and the trail heads are easily accessible from Shigatse.

    This trekking begins at the historic Shalu Monastery and traverses west over a couple of small ranges to Ngor Monastery. From Ngor it is a downhill slog to Nartang Monastery. The route passes through several villages as well as uninhabited dry canyons. It is about a 10 hours walk to Ngor from Shalu, which is best divided into two days and another seven hours from there to Nartang.

     This trekking tour can be done from April to the end of October.

The tour itinerary:
    Day01 Lhasa airport picking up, have a good rest in the afternoon. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day02 Lhasa sightseeing
     Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Market. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day03 Lhasa sightseeing
     Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day04 Lhasa / Yamdrok-tso / Gyantse
    Heading to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso there. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then drive back to chushul, along Nepal friendship way to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. Overnight at Gyantse.

Day05 Gyantse / Shalu Monastery / upper Lungsang, trekking 5-6 hours, 14km
    Driving to Shalu Monastery from Gyantse, only 70km away. Visit Shalu Monastery. Then start trekking. Camping

Day06 Upper Lungsang / Ngor Monastery, trekking 4 hours, 8km, camping

Day07 Ngor Monastery / Nartang Monastery / Shigatse, trekking 5 hours, 18km
     Today trekking from Ngor to Nartang by passing several villages, saddles, and one electric utility. After arriving at Nartang Monastery, our driver will pick you up to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse ( Manasarovar Hotel or Shigatse Hotel).

Day08 Shigatse / Tashilhunpo Monastery/ Lhasa
     Visiting Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, afternoon drive back to Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day09 Lhasa airport dropping off, end the trip.
